Meet the Artist - Sophia Koulbanis

I have been handcrafting jewellery for about 10 years and I have been trained in metal and other jewellery making techniques.

I have always loved to create and I first expressed myself through drawing and painting.

I became really excited about making jewellery because it's portable art. You don't need a space to exhibit it, you just wear it!

I use only quality materials such as gemstones, glass, freshwater pearls, sterling silver, base metals (brass, copper and nickel) not silver or gold plated metals.

My inspiration comes from nature, organic forms and textures found all around us in plants, animals and landscapes. My fascination with nature has inspired the name Red Lotus Handcrafted Jewellery.

The red lotus symbolises passion and I am truly passionate about making beautiful and individual jewellery pieces.

I hope you get as much enjoyment out of wearing my jewellery as I do designing and making it.
